InnoCAR‑T DCs advance training with secondments in industry and academia

Several doctoral candidates within the InnoCAR‑T Doctoral Network have recently started or completed their secondments across Europe, gaining valuable experience in academic and industry settings. These placements are a central part of the programme’s training approach, designed to strengthen interdisciplinary skills and foster collaboration between sectors.

One example is our Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Doctoral Candidate Aysenur, who has just started a research secondment at Integra Therapeutics in Barcelona, Spain. During this secondment, Aysenur will work on innovative delivery strategies for CRISPR‑based systems and explore how gene‑editing technologies can be translated into effective therapies.

Secondments provide InnoCAR‑T doctoral candidates with hands‑on experience, exposure to different working environments, and opportunities to apply their research in real‑world contexts. These experiences are vital for preparing the next generation of researchers and innovators in the field of cell and gene therapies.
